Scott Mayo to hold jazz concert, master class at TTU
Mayo has toured the world with numerous artists and is a fixture in the LA music scene, playing saxophone, flute, clarinet and piano. For more than six years he toured the globe with and played saxophone and flute for rhythm and blues band Earth Wind & Fire.
Mayo’s style allows him to move freely between a variety of genres such as pop, R&B, rock, jazz, classical and hip-hop.
Mayo has collaborated with a variety of other artists, including Stevie Wonder, Bonnie Raitt, Michael Bolton, Luther Vandross, the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and Ice Cube.
He will also hold a master class with TTU music students at 11 a.m. Feb. 20 in the Bryan Fine Arts Building.
Mayo’s visit is sponsored by TTU’s Center Stage, which is made possible by the university’s general education fund. The event is free and open to the public.
